
Belgium has a long tradition of fruit being added to beer.
Usually made with cherries (kriek) or raspberries (framboise) and often based on lambic beer - the most unusual beer style in the world where beer ferments without the addition of yeast. In recent years other fruits have been used.
Lindemans Kriek

A pink beer with a pink frothy head, and an overpowering aroma of cherryade and sherbet. On the palate it is doggedly fruity (cherries) and sweet but with a slightly sour aspect towards the finish. Aftertaste is fruity (cherries - glacé).
