Fyne Ales

The Fyne Ales brewery was set up in 2001 using the redundant milking parlour in the traditional farm buildings at Achadunan, Cairndow.

The first commercial brew was on St. Andrews day that year. The design for the brewery and the impact which the brewing makes on the locality are arranged to have as little environmental impact as possible. Water is sourced from a burn above the brewery overlooking Glen Fyne and the head of Loch Fyne.

We were delighted that in October 2002, within nine months of starting production, we were awarded the Scottish regional gold awards from the SIBA for two of our beers. We went on to compete with these beers in the National Championship in 2003 against strong competition from the English regions, and proudly brought home a silver and bronze award. In 2004 we again won a gold and silver award in the Scottish regional competition and have gone on to win similar awards in 2005 and 2006.
