All similar to lager beers in colour, but Belgian golden ales are strong and very aromatic. The character comes from the hop varieties like Saaz and Goldings. The original was Duvel and the many imitators of the style use names similar to Duvel, which is Flemish for devil.

Brewed by the Huyghe brewery, which has existed since 1654. Delirium Tremens is a beer of fine manufacture and was voted 'Best Beer in the World' by specialists in 1997.
